Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Rosenblum is a renowned New York trained podiatric surgeon and scientist currently practicing his subspecialty in diabetic limb salvage in Jerusalem. He has garnered a reputation through his research and advancements in his field, becoming a sought-after lecturer and author. In 2001, Dr. Rosenblum began forming affiliations to advance the future of medicine through new medical devices and startups, culminating in his collaboration with Mr. Roseman and the establishment of RIthem Life Sciences, about which he said: “Never in my almost 20 years of startup experience, have I seen such a single-minded group, exhibiting such amazing teamwork, all with a unified goal.”

Mr. Roseman has over 25 years in international business. After a personal incident involving the tragic and sudden loss of his friend’s young son, he decided to act. He co-founded Rithem Life Sciences to bring his ideas to life, developing life-saving medical equipment that is easy and affordable enough for home use—making it possible for life-saving technology to be available should a sudden cardiac arrest occur.

Dr. Werthman is a renowned surgeon, fertility expert, and consultant who dedicates his time to bringing innovative medical visions to life. He maintains an extensive network of physicians, scientists, business people, athletes, celebrities, and military personnel to further this aim, and brings both business and medical acumen to each project. He has partnered with Mr. Roseman to help develop and guide the direction of the Rithem Life Sciences products and is proud to be a part of the team.

Mr. Keyes is the chairman of Keye Development, LLC, an investment group that promotes growth and expansion in diverse business areas. He previously served as the chairman and CEO of Blockbuster Video and 7-11 and has extensive experience in managing and expanding groups to levels of excellence. Mr. Keyes graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and earned an MBA from Columbia University. As a leading member of the Rithem Life Sciences team, he brings an impressive level of expertise and business knowledge to the group, and has on offer his skills in the development of this critical new technology to advance emergency medicine.

Mark Genender is a growth equity investor and the Managing Partner of Bristol Growth Capital, LLC. He currently serves as EVP Business Development and is a Board Member of Standard Vision, LLC. He is the lead investor, CFO and Board Member of QCode Media. He is a co-Founder, Board Member and CFO of Gloss Ventures. He serves as an Operating Advisor to Torch Capital, a consumer VC fund in NYC. His private equity career included senior investment roles at Guggenheim Partners, Red Mountain Capital, Star Avenue Capital and Fenway Partners. Previously, he held senior management positions at Nabisco International and the Frito-Lay division of PepsiCo. He began his career as an M&A analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Genender holds an MBA from INSEAD and an A.B. from Princeton University.

Carl Schmigelski MD

Carl Schmigelski, M.D., is a board-certified anesthesiologist and an active member of the Department of Anesthesiology at Winthrop University Hospital and Nassau Anesthesia Associates in Mineola, NY. In 2011, he was appointed director of Non-Operating Room Anesthesia at Winthrop University Hospital and serves as director of Anesthesia for the Winthrop Pediatric Associates, Pediatric Hematology Oncology. In additional to his clinical work, Dr. Schmigelski is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at NYU Long Island School of Medicine.

Dr. Natterson began his career as a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist at Pacific Heart Institute in 1996. In 2010, he transitioned to consultative cardiology and began a series of leadership roles including Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Officer at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica CA, and President and Medical Director of Pacific Heart Institute. He has also served on the Saint John’s Health Center Board of Directors. Dr. Natterson attended college at Harvard, medical school at UC San Diego, and trained in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at UCLA.

Todd Zalut MD

Todd Zalut MD

Dr. Todd Zalut trained in Emergency Medicine in Chicago, Il, following which he was the Project Medical Director for the EMS system of Northwest Chicago. He first made aliyah in 1990 and was the first residency trained specialist in EM in the State of Israel. He returned to Chicago in 1991 to be the Director of the Emergency Department of Michael Reese Hospital but realized that his heart was in Jerusalem. So he returned in 1993, was the assistant Director of Terem, worked as a staff physician in the ED at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot, and was enlisted in the elite helicopter rescue unit of the Israeli Air Force. In 2002 he returned to the Emergency Department of Shaare Zedek where he was the Assistant Director of the ED under Dr. Applebaum. Since 2003 he has been the Director of the ED and has managed its 300% growth over the last 15 years (which is faster and more growth than any other ED in the country) Dr. Zalut was also the Medical Director of Medassis, a company dedicated to repatriating patients who get sick overseas and need to be brought home safely. In his spare time, he is father to four amazing children and married to Rashie, an art therapist who works with disabled children.

Dr. Mark A. Merlin is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Vice-Chairman, Emergency Medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center/RWJBarnabas Health. He has over 35 years’ experience in EMS as a volunteer first aider, paramedic and EMS Physician. Dr Merlin is currently the CEO of MD1 which is a fifty member nonprofit dedicated to advancing prehospital care. Dr. Merlin has been involved overseeing prehospital physician response since 2002. For MD1, manages teams participating in event medicine, tactical response, flight medicine (both rotary and fixed wing) and ground field response. Dr. Merlin is the founder of MD1 and Board Chairman. At MD1, Dr. Merlin has created numerous revenue streams and developed relationships between the business and EMS community to develop support for numerous programs. He has developed EMS grant and community support and public awareness via social media and community engagement.

Larry Harrington is a hall of fame athlete, highly decorated military leader, accomplished businessman and entrepreneur, on a global scale. He is also an honored public servant, recognized civic leader, and proud family man. Major General (Ret.) Harrington’s career includes assignments in some of the most demanding, complex, and strategically relevant leadership positions. Highlights include assignments to tactically significant combat assignments, humanitarian relief operations, nation building, and military facilities managements. A talented businessman, Larry has held management and leadership positions in several fortune 500 companies. As an entrepreneur, he owns several successful small businesses performing work around the world. Larry has more than 30 years’ experience as a volunteer with civic, public, and non-government organizations. Larry holds a BS degree in Architectural Engineering; an MBA, and a MS degree in Strategic Studies. As a member if the Rithem Life Sciences team, he brings an impressive level of management expertise and business development knowledge to the group, particularly in U.S. government contracting and strategic management.

Dov Maisel

Dov Maisel

Dov Maisel is the senior Vice-President of International Operations for United Hatzalah/United Rescue volunteer emergency response organizations. He is an active Combat Medic and a Company Commander in the Israel Defense Forces (Res.) and specializes in a mass disaster, rescue and recovery training for both the civilian and military arenas. He is an innovator and inventor of medical technologies and devices implemented in Israel and Globally and is on the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services Magazine (JEMS). In addition to his many fields of expertise, he leads Israeli rescue missions to disaster-struck countries such as Haiti and Nepal and has been spearheading international expansion by helping cities all over the world develop community-based emergency response programs based on the model of United Hatzalah.

AJ Heightman

A.J. Heightman, MPA, EMT-P, is the Editor-Emeritus of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS), based out of San Diego, CA. He is also an Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Research and Leadership for the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and a member of the San Diego Fire Rescue Academic Advisory Committee.

A.J. served as the JEMS Editor-in-Chief for 25 years prior to being honored with Editor Emeritus status. Prior to joining the staff of JEMS, A.J. served for 17 years as Executive Director of the six-county Eastern PA EMS region in Allentown, PA and then as Director of Operations for Cetronia Ambulance in Lehigh County. Throughout his career in Eastern PA, A.J. also served as a paramedic and EMS command officer with the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Dept. He also served as a paramedic (part-time) for both the City of Allentown (PA) and City of Bethlehem (PA) EMS divisions. A.J. is a graduate of Temple University and received his master’s degree in Public Administration from Lehigh University. A certified EMS and rescue instructor, A.J. has also served on the faculty of university EMS degree programs; community college emergency service training divisions and fire academies in Pennsylvania. A.J. is well known for his work in the area of EMS management and Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) management.

Sheila Hemeon-Heyer is the Founder and President of Heyer Regulatory Solutions LLC (HRS), providing global regulatory submission and compliance consulting services to the medical device and combination products industries since November 2010. HRS has experience in all therapeutic areas regulated by FDA and includes a variety of technologies, including permanent implants, mobile medical applications, home-use devices, and drug delivery systems. In the past 10 years, HRS has provided premarket regulatory strategies to 85 medical device manufacturers, guided companies through 23 FDA Pre-Submissions and Pre-Submission meetings, submitted 42 successful 510(k) Premarket Notifications, 10 IDE or PMA applications, three Breakthrough Device Designations, and two De Novo classifications. Prior to founding HRS, Sheila had a long career in Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality Affairs beginning at FDA where she was a Scientific Reviewer in the CDRH Office of Device Evaluation, then as Director of Regulatory Services for Medical Device Consultants, Inc. (MDCI), managing regulatory, clinical and compliance projects for medical device and combination products. Sheila joined Boston Scientific Corporation in 2005 as Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs, where she was responsible for worldwide regulatory strategies, operations and intelligence. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, an M.S. in Biomechanics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law, is US and EU Regulatory Affairs Certified and is a Fellow of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.

Robert Seiple has over 40 years of industry experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, radiopharmaceuticals, and food additives. Robert’s areas of expertise include: regulatory compliance, project management (new product development and compliance upgrades), creation of risk management documentation, marketing authorization submissions and Technical File preparation. As President and Principal Consultant, Robert performs multiple functions for QPM clients including audits, training, responses to regulatory compliance actions (483 and Warning Letter responses), 510(k) and CE submissions, and Technical File preparation and review.
